Garage Builders of Raleigh recently completed a two-car detached garage for me, meeting a long list of personal design preferences.  I obtained four bids, including large volume garage builders and advertisers, and quickly decided to work with Garage Builders of Raleigh and their team.  Their experience and personal insight aligned with my interest.

In 2009 I was in desperate need of a detached 3-bay garage. I needed something not offered by the pick from our plans volume builders. Thus a search for custom garage builders led me to Garage Builders of Raleigh. I only had a floor plan and a conceptual idea of what I wanted, but with his patience and vast experience in custom building, we were able to bring the project to fruition. 

The experience the company had was put to the test early on when bedrock interfered with the foundation footing. Garage Builders of Raleigh creatively worked with building inspectors and sub contractors to provide a workable solution. Their attention to detail was evident in the foundation phase but reached fanatical status when the woodworking began. A case in point, they grade each and every 2×4 stud used in the wall to match their inherent curvatures to prevent the walls from having a wavy appearance. They also do this for each and every roof truss. 

If you are in a hurry and need a garage thrown up fast, Garage Builders of Raleigh is probably not your builder. He takes his time and does it right the first time. Garage Builders of Raleigh uses old world craftsmanship that is rarely seen these days. If you are looking for a custom garage, I highly recommend Garage Builders of Raleigh. We had an idea of the style of garage we wanted and knew it would have to be custom built. the company listened to our ideas, and even though he had never built a gambrel roof garage, he was eager to build one that would suit our needs. Their proposal was thorough and included options that we had discussed. At each step in the building process where there were decisions to be made, they consulted with us.

Garage Builders of Raleigh was extremely helpful in getting all the necessary permits, surveys, and drawings and in lining up inspections. The company was very meticulous and made sure every detail of the building was done right. They cut no corners. They have subcontractors who regularly work with them, so there were no surprises along the way. From the foundation to the roofing and siding, everyone did excellent work.

We’re pleased with our garage. It’s well built, with quality materials, and has even more usable space than we envisioned. We’ve received lots of compliments on how nice it looks and how well it matches our house.
